Introduction

I am a PhD student at the University of Helsinki in doctoral program of Social Sciences. My dissertation deals with friendships and communities in secondary vocational education. I have a master’s degree focused in Social and Public Policy from University of Helsinki. I've done research in the fields of gender and culture sensitive career guidance, young people's educational choices, occupational gender segregation, child protection and young people’s service experiences.

I am particularly interested in questions of good life, social relationships, social belonging and societal preconditions of these. I've done mainly qualitative research (ethnographic observation and interviews), but in the future I`ll deepen my quantitative expertise.

I am Currently working in a project that focuses particularly on producing easily approached and practical educational materials for gender and culture sensitive career guidance. The aim is to raise awareness, and to transform the awareness about the gender and culture bias in career guidance into good practices to counteract it.
