Introduction

A sociologist, a youth researcher and a full-time internet addict.

I work as a researher in the Finnish Youth Research Network. I am also a PhD candidate at University of Helsinki. In the Finnish Youth Research Network I study in the project "From father to son - cross-generational defence will in Finland after second world war". With Mikko Salasuo (adjunct professor) we are studying how meanings of defence will and views on conscription army varies in different generations.

In my doctoral research I focus on completely different subject. My research continues my Master's thesis (in Finnish) where I studied lifestyle blogging culture among young Finnish females. I was interested in how good taste is represented in lifestyle blogging. At the same time I criticized the fragmented methodology and ethical discussion of online research. In my future research I will focus on studying young people's online cultures and continue to further develop the methodology and ethical boundaries of (ethnographic) online research.
